Privacy Policy
Last updated August 2026
Keepdish lets you save recipes by pasting a link, pasting text, or sharing a link into the app from another app. This page explains exactly what data the app handles — in plain language, because there isn't much to hide.
At a glance
What we collect
- A random device ID, generated on your device, used only to apply fair-usage limits
- The link or text you choose to submit for import
What we don't collect
- No name, email, or account — there's no sign-in at all
- No location, contacts, or photos
- No advertising or analytics tracking
How your recipes are stored
Recipes you save are stored locally on your device only. They are not uploaded to any cloud account or shared with other users.
How an import is processed
When you submit a link or text, it's sent to our server so it can be turned into a structured recipe. To do that, the server may pass the content you submitted to third-party services:
- A media-fetching service, to retrieve the public content of a social media link you provide
- An AI transcription and text-processing service, to convert video, audio, or text into ingredients and steps
These services only see the content you explicitly submit — never your device ID or any information about you.
Caching
To avoid re-processing the same link twice, the server may cache the extracted recipe for a given URL. This cache is keyed by the URL itself, not by you or your device.
Data retention and deletion
Recipes stored on your device are deleted when you delete them in the app, or when you uninstall it. Since there are no accounts, there's no separate copy of your data held anywhere else.
Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top will change with it.
